Summer Sports Camps
Check the summer program guide due out in May for a complete list of sports camps available for your child.

Team registration is open for Parks & Recreation’s 18 and Over Adult Basketball League until Friday, May 19. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Teams must have a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 15. Players must be 18 years old by no later than June 4.
Games are played at Northeast Community Center in Chesapeake Beach on Sundays from 3-10 p.m. Tentative start date is Sunday, June. 4 through July 30. Playoffs will be the week of Aug. 1.
This season’s league fee is $700 per team. Fees cover the cost of league coordinators, officials,post-season tournament, awards and administrative fees. For more information or to obtain registration forms, please contact the Office of Sports, Community & Well-Being at

Youth Kickball
2023 CCPR Youth Kickball Game Schedule
We look forward to another summer of fun with our Youth Kickball League. Look for information in Parks & Recreation’s Spring Program brochure due out at the end of February on how to register.
Youth kickball is for students that will be in Kindergarten through 8th grade in the Fall of 2023. Grade divisions are K-1, 2-3, 4-5 and 6-8. it’s a great way for boys and girls to stay active, play with their friends and share some great summer memories. Our Youth Kickball is an activity that is free from the pressure of winning and losing. We emphasize fun and participation. You will want to register your child in the area that they will go to school (Northern, Central, or Southern).

Pickleball
Join CCPR for one of the fastest growing sports in the Country. Pickle Ball combines the fun and excitement of tennis, racquetball and ping pong into a small court for two or four players. Pickle Ball is easy to learn and fun. Meet new friends and add Pickle Ball to your active lifestyle today.
Lessons and clinics are held throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. Registration information can be obtained online or email us at sports@calvertcountymd.gov. We also offer a spring and fall league for competitive players.
Outdoor Pickle Ball courts can be found at Dunkirk District Park courts #1 and #2; Mt. Hope Community Center (one court); Hallowing Point Park courts #1, #2, #3 and #4 Cove Point Park courts #1 and #2, and Solomons Town Center (one court). You’ll need to bring your own paddles and balls, but Pickle ball nets are available at each court. You just have to move them into place and return them to the side once you’re done.
Court availability for reservations is first determined by CCPR event schedule and then by existing paid reservations. and lastly first-come, first-served for open courts. To reserve a court for a nominal fee at our parks, please email us at sports@calvertcountymd.gov or call 410-535-1600, x2649.
Golf
Each summer, the Office of Sports, Community & Well-Being looks forward to hosting the Annual Chesapeake Hills Golf Classic. This event is a great opportunity for everyone in the community to come out enjoy one of Southern Maryland’s most improved and picturesque golf courses. The event is a four person scramble and is a great opportunity to make new friends and renew old acquaintances. This year’s tournament will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 with the net proceeds benefiting the CCPR Therman Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund benefits underprivileged families that would like to participate in CCPR programs.
Information on the tournament will appear in Parks & Recreation’s Summer Program brochure when it is mailed out in late April.

Tennis
Join CCPR for tennis lessons at Dunkirk District Park and Hallowing Point Park. Our instructors are certified teaching professional who enjoy working with individuals and groups. CCPR tennis lesson goals are to enhance fundamentals and to create a fun and supportive environment that will encourage participants to play and enjoy the game for life.
